The Tabernacle

Exodus 31:1-11

God commands our very best in terms of our time and talents.

When the Israelites were in the wilderness, God commanded them to build a tabernacle so that He could dwell in the midst of His people.  This foreshadowed the incarnation of Jesus.

God gave precise instructions for the construction of the tabernacle.  He also gave instructions for how sacrifices could be offered to Him.  These sacrifices were made to atone for the sins of the people.

The seriousness of sin can only be dealt with by the shedding of blood.  It is only through the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary that sinful humanity can approach a holy God.
